Employee-side employment firms use Mike to read personnel files, performance reviews, emails and separation agreements, build chronologies of discrimination, retaliation and wage claims, and draft charges, demand letters and discovery. Every statement cites the page of the record it came from, for review.

An employment case is a timeline of small events: a complaint made on one date, a review written on another, a termination a few weeks later. Mike reads what the client brings in and what the employer produces, orders it by date, and shows the gaps and the changes in tone that matter to a retaliation or pretext argument.

Cuanto Labs loads your intake questionnaire, demand letters and separation agreement checklist into Mike and connects it to the folders where client files live. Messages in which clients describe coworkers and managers stay within your firm's own installation.

## What Mike does for your practice

- **Case chronologies.** Mike builds a dated chronology from the client's emails, reviews, handbook acknowledgments and termination papers, with each entry linked to its source, so the sequence between protected activity and adverse action is laid out for the attorney.
- **Separation agreement review.** Mike reads a severance or separation agreement and lists the release scope, the covenants, the deadlines to sign or revoke, and the terms that deserve a conversation with the client. The attorney advises; Mike organizes.
- **Performance review comparison.** Mike reads a run of performance reviews and warnings and shows how ratings and comments changed over time, which helps when the question is whether the stated reason for termination appeared before or after a complaint.
- **Wage and hour calculations.** From pay stubs, schedules and time records, Mike builds an Excel workbook that lays out hours, rates and pay by period, with a source reference on every row, for the attorney or an expert to check.
- **Demand letters and agency charges.** Mike drafts demand letters and charge narratives from the chronology and your template. The draft arrives as a Word document, and revisions can be shown as tracked changes.
- **Case law research.** Mike searches case law through CourtListener on questions such as causation between a complaint and a termination or the treatment of comparators, reads the opinions, and checks each case citation against CourtListener.

## How we set it up for your firm

- **Intake questionnaire workflow.** We turn your intake form into a saved workflow that reads a completed questionnaire and lists employer, dates, protected activity, adverse action and deadlines for the attorney's first review.
- **Demand letter and charge forms.** We load your demand letters, agency charge narratives and engagement letters, so drafts match your format and voice.
- **Release and arbitration checklist.** We build saved workflows that check separation and arbitration agreements against the points your attorneys look for, such as release scope, revocation period and fee terms.
- **Review templates for productions.** We build tabular review templates for the employer's production, such as author, date, recipient and topic, so the same questions are asked of every document.
- **Pay record workbook layout.** We set up the Excel layout your attorneys or damages experts expect for hours, rates and pay periods, so wage calculations land in a familiar format.

## Questions attorneys ask

### Can Mike handle a client's pile of screenshots and forwarded emails?

Mike reads documents once they are in a matter, including scanned and image based files that have been through text recognition. Screenshots with clean text read best. Mike says when a page could not be read, so you can ask the client for a better copy or look at it yourself.

### Does Mike decide whether a termination was discriminatory or retaliatory?

No. That is an attorney's judgment about the facts and the law. Mike organizes the documents, shows the sequence of events and where the stated reasons changed, and drafts the documents you ask for. Each statement links to its source so you can test it. If a document seems to cut against your client, Mike will still list it, so you hear about it from your own file and not from the other side.

### Can Mike help us evaluate arbitration clauses and releases?

Mike reads the agreement and lists the terms you ask about, such as scope, carve outs, delegation, fees and deadlines, with a citation to each section. It does not tell you whether a clause is enforceable in your jurisdiction. That analysis is for the attorney, who can ask Mike for related case law.

### Can Mike organize an employer's document production?

Load the production and run the review template: author, date, recipient and topic are pulled from each document into one table you can sort and filter. Every cell links to its page. Mike does not decide relevance or privilege. Attorneys use the table to find the emails around a complaint date and then read those documents in full.

### Can Mike help calculate overtime owed?

It builds a workbook from pay stubs, schedules and time records that shows hours, rates and pay by period, with a source reference on each row. The method, the rule that applies and any liquidated or statutory add-ons are for the attorney or an expert. Mike lists periods with missing records, so the gaps are visible before a demand goes out.

### Can Mike show a change in tone across performance reviews?

It reads the reviews in date order and sets ratings, comments and the manager's name in one table, so a shift after a complaint is visible at a glance. Mike quotes the text and gives the page. Whether the change shows pretext is the attorney's judgment, and the attorney can ask Mike to search case law through CourtListener on how courts treat such evidence.
