Labor firms use Mike to read collective bargaining agreements, grievance files and arbitration records, compare contract language across bargaining units, and draft grievances, briefs and bargaining proposals. Each answer cites the article or page it came from, so counsel can verify it.

Labor work turns on exact contract language and on a record that builds over time: past awards, side letters, grievance histories, bargaining notes. Mike reads the full file together, finds the provisions and the history that bear on a dispute, and shows where each came from.

Cuanto Labs sets Mike up against your unit folders, loads your grievance and arbitration forms, and builds the comparison columns with the lawyers who negotiate. Member grievance files stay inside your firm's own installation.

## What Mike does for your practice

- **Contract language comparison.** Upload the current collective bargaining agreement and a prior one, or the agreements of several units, and Mike lists the differences article by article, such as seniority, discipline, overtime and grievance steps, with a citation for each.
- **Grievance preparation.** Mike reads the grievance, the supervisor's notes and the relevant contract articles, lists the facts and the provisions in play, and drafts a statement of the grievance for attorney review. Every statement links to the page it came from.
- **Arbitration records.** Mike reads past awards, transcripts and exhibits and builds a table of issue, contract article, outcome and reasoning, so counsel can find how an issue was decided before and by whom.
- **Bargaining proposals and costing support.** Mike drafts proposal language in Word from your forms and the positions you set, and revises drafts with tracked changes. Tabular Review can pull wage and benefit fields from many agreements into a table to compare against.
- **Unfair labor practice charges.** Mike builds a chronology from charge documents, correspondence, notices and witness statements, lists the allegations against the evidence, and drafts a position statement from the record for attorney review.
- **Case law research.** Mike searches published case law on questions such as the scope of the duty to bargain, arbitrability or the deference owed to an award, and reads the opinions before summarizing them. Case citations are checked against CourtListener before they appear.

## How we set it up for your firm

- **Agreement and award libraries.** We connect Mike to the folders holding each unit's agreements, side letters and past awards, organized by bargaining unit, so counsel can ask across the full history.
- **Grievance and brief forms.** We load your grievance statements, position statements, bargaining proposals and arbitration brief templates so drafts come back in your format and your voice.
- **Agreement comparison columns.** We build Tabular Review templates for the fields you compare across agreements, such as term, wage scales, seniority rules and grievance steps, and match the columns to your existing spreadsheets.
- **Labor board and arbitration sources.** If your firm subscribes to labor board or arbitration decision sources, we connect them during setup so Mike can search them next to published case law. They are connected, not built in.
- **Contract expiration workflow.** We save a workflow for the months before an agreement expires: it compares the expiring agreement with its predecessor and lists the articles that changed last time.

## Questions attorneys ask

### Can Mike compare collective bargaining agreements?

Yes. Load two or more agreements and Mike lists the differences by article or topic, with the page for each. It reads the actual language, so a changed definition or a reworded exception is found. Counsel reviews the listed differences and decides what they mean for the unit, since the effect of a wording change depends on the history behind it.

### How does Mike handle past awards and grievance histories?

If the awards, transcripts and grievance files are in your folders, Mike reads them and builds a table of issues, articles and outcomes, with a link to each source page. This lets counsel find how a question was handled before. Mike only knows what is in the documents you provide, so incomplete files produce incomplete tables.

### Can Mike research labor board decisions?

Mike searches published case law through CourtListener and reads the opinions before summarizing them. Labor board decisions, arbitration awards and statutes are not built in. If your firm subscribes to a source for them, we connect it during setup, and answers drawn from it link to the document. Counsel confirms any authority before it is relied on in a brief or at hearing.

### Can Mike help prepare for a grievance meeting?

Give it the grievance, the steward's notes and the supervisor's statements, and Mike lists the facts each side asserts, the contract articles in play and the questions the file leaves open, with a page for each. The attorney decides the theory and what to ask. If the notes are thin, Mike says which facts it could not find rather than filling the gap.

### Can Mike draft a bargaining proposal?

It can draft proposal language in Word from your forms and the positions you give it, and revise a draft with tracked changes. It can also pull comparable terms from other agreements in your folders into a table. The proposals themselves reflect strategy that belongs to counsel and the client, and an attorney reviews every draft.

### Can Mike line up wage and benefit terms across units?

Tabular Review reads each agreement and fills one row per unit with the columns you set, such as term, general increases, step schedules, premium pay and seniority rules. Each cell links to the article it came from, and cells where an agreement is silent are left marked. Costing arithmetic stays with your team, which can export the table to Excel.
