Personal injury firms use Mike to read medical records, bills and police reports, build treatment chronologies, and draft demand letters from the client file. Every statement Mike writes links to the page it came from, so an attorney can check the record in one click before anything goes out.

Most of a personal injury file is reading. Records arrive from several providers, in different formats, often out of order. Mike works through them the way a careful paralegal would: it finds each visit, notes the provider, the complaint and the treatment, and flags gaps and pre-existing conditions an adjuster will raise.

Cuanto Labs sets Mike up against your case folders, loads your demand and representation letter templates, and builds the chronology columns with the paralegals who use them. Client medical records stay inside your firm's own installation.

## What Mike does for your practice

- **Treatment chronologies.** Mike reads every record in a client's file and produces a dated chronology of visits, diagnoses, procedures and providers, with each entry linked to its source page. Gaps in treatment longer than the threshold you set are flagged so you can explain them before the adjuster asks.
- **Demand letter drafts.** Ask for the damages section of a demand and Mike drafts it in your firm's template, pulling injuries and treatment from the chronology and specials from the bills. The draft arrives as a Word document you can edit, with tracked changes when you ask Mike to revise it.
- **Medical bill review.** Mike builds a table of providers, dates of service, billed amounts and payments from the bills in the file, so the specials total comes from the documents and every line can be traced back to the bill it came from.
- **Liability research.** Mike searches published case law for the questions your case turns on, such as comparative fault, notice in a premises case or causation after a gap in treatment, and reads the opinions before it summarizes them. Case citations are checked against CourtListener before they appear in an answer.
- **Intake and case screening.** Upload an intake form, a police report and early photos, and Mike summarizes the facts, the potential defendants and the open questions an attorney should resolve before signing the case.
- **Deposition preparation.** Mike reads prior statements, records and discovery responses and lists inconsistencies worth raising, with the page and line for each, so outlines start from the record instead of from memory.

## How we set it up for your firm

- **Demand and settlement templates.** We load the demand letters, settlement memos and letters of representation your firm sends, so drafts come back in your format and your voice.
- **Chronology format your team prefers.** Columns, date formats, gap thresholds and how pre-existing conditions are flagged are set up once to match how your paralegals already work.
- **Medical record and bill columns.** We build review templates that pull the same fields from every record or bill, such as provider, date of service, charge and payment, so a hundred-page production becomes a sortable table.
- **Treatment gap and prior injury flags.** The gap length you want flagged, and how earlier injuries to the same body part are marked, are written into a saved workflow every paralegal runs the same way.
- **Intake screening checklist.** The questions your intake team needs answered before signing a case, such as date of loss, defendants, insurance and any deadlines stated in the file, become a saved workflow.

## Questions attorneys ask

### Can Mike read handwritten or scanned medical records?

Mike reads scanned records once they have been through text recognition, which we set up as part of your installation. Clean typed records read best. Handwritten notes are hit and miss, and Mike will tell you when a page could not be read rather than guess at it, so those pages can go to a person.

### Can Mike spot a treatment gap an adjuster will argue?

Set the gap length you care about, such as a month, and Mike flags every interval between visits longer than that, with the dates and the pages on either side. It also lists earlier records that mention the same body part. It cannot explain why the client stopped treating. The attorney asks the client and records the answer.

### Will Mike write the whole demand letter?

It drafts whichever sections you ask for, in your firm's template, from the documents in the file. Most firms have Mike draft the facts, treatment and damages sections and have an attorney write the liability argument and the number. The output is a Word document, so editing works the way it always has.

### Does Mike calculate the specials?

It builds a table of providers, dates of service, billed amounts and payments from the bills in the file and totals the columns, with each line linked to its bill. Liens, write-offs and adjustments appear only if the documents show them. The attorney decides which figures belong in the demand and how to treat billed versus paid amounts.

### Can Mike help with liability when the police report is thin?

It lists what the report, statements and early correspondence establish about fault and what they leave open, such as missing witness details or conflicting accounts, each with a page. It can also search published case law through CourtListener on the theory you plan to plead. Choosing the theory and writing the argument stay with the attorney.
