White-collar defense firms use Mike to review large document productions, build chronologies of who knew what and when, and prepare witness outlines from the record. Every statement Mike writes links to the page it came from, so an attorney can verify the source before relying on it.

An investigation arrives as thousands of emails, spreadsheets, contracts and board materials, usually before the government has said what it thinks happened. Mike reads them the way a careful associate would, tracks the people and events that recur, and surfaces the documents that help or hurt your client.

Cuanto Labs installs Mike for your firm, connects it to the folders where your matter files already live, and loads your own memo and outline templates. Privileged investigation files stay inside your firm's own installation.

## What Mike does for your practice

- **Production review and issue coding.** Mike reads a subpoena production and sorts documents against the issues you define, such as approvals, payments or communications with a named person. Each result links to its page, and a reviewer can accept, reject or reassign the call before it goes into the matter file.
- **Who-knew-what chronologies.** Mike builds a dated chronology of events and communications across emails, memos and meeting materials, with an entry for each person who received or sent a key document. Attorneys use it to test the government's theory against the paper.
- **Tabular review of contracts and payments.** Use Tabular Review to pull the same fields from every agreement, invoice or ledger entry in a production, such as counterparties, amounts, dates and signers, into a sortable table. Odd entries stand out because the whole set is side by side.
- **Witness interview outlines.** Ask for an outline for a witness and Mike drafts topics and questions from the documents that person wrote or received, citing the page for each. Prior statements and later documents are compared so inconsistencies are listed before the interview.
- **Charging and sentencing research.** Mike searches published case law on the elements, intent standards and defenses your matter turns on, reads the opinions, and checks each case it cites against CourtListener before the answer appears. Research memos come back as Word documents.
- **Internal investigation reports.** Mike drafts sections of an investigation report or a presentation to the government from the reviewed record, with the supporting documents cited, so attorneys spend their time on judgment and not on assembling exhibits.
- **Privilege log support.** Mike reads documents flagged for privilege and drafts log entries with date, author, recipients and a description, for an attorney to review and correct before the log is served.

## How we set it up for your firm

- **Your matter folders, connected.** We connect Mike to the drive or document system where your investigation files live, including large productions, so reviewers do not upload anything twice.
- **Your issue lists and coding scheme.** We set up the issue tags, custodian lists and review fields your team already uses, so results match the way the case team thinks about the matter.
- **Memo and outline templates.** We load your research memos, witness outlines, privilege log format and presentation decks, so drafts arrive in your firm's style.
- **Bates numbering and production indexes.** We load the index layout and Bates conventions you use, so Mike cites a document by the number printed on its page and a production can be traced to its range.
- **Privilege log columns.** We set the columns your court or agency expects for a log, such as date, author, recipients, privilege basis and description, so draft entries arrive ready for attorney review.

## Questions attorneys ask

### How large a production can Mike work through?

That depends on the hardware or cloud account behind your installation and on how the documents are organized, and we size it with you during setup. Mike works through a production in batches and reports what it has and has not covered, so the team always knows which documents still need a human reader.

### Is Mike a substitute for our document review platform?

No. Mike is a research and drafting workspace that reads documents in your matter folders and answers questions about them. If your firm uses a dedicated review platform for large productions, Mike works alongside it, and we can load exports from that system so the two are used for what each does best.

### Who makes the privilege calls?

Mike reads the documents flagged for privilege and drafts each log entry with the date, author, recipients and a description. A reviewing attorney decides whether the document is privileged, whether the description reveals too much, and what the log finally says. Entries link to the source page, and the reviewer's edits are the ones that go into the served log.

### Does Mike verify the case law it cites?

Mike searches published US case law, reads the opinions, and each case it cites is checked against CourtListener before the answer appears. It does not check statutes, guidelines or secondary sources, and it does not decide which authority controls in your circuit, so cited opinions should be read before they are relied on.

### Will it draft the submission to the government?

It drafts the sections you ask for, such as a factual background or a chronology, in your template, from the reviewed documents, with citations to the record. Attorneys write the advocacy and decide what is shared. The output is a Word document, so editing and tracked changes work as usual.

### Can Mike keep a running record of what we already produced?

If you load the production index and the produced sets, Mike can answer which documents went out, in which Bates range and on what date, citing the index page. Tabular Review can build that list for export to Excel. The firm's production log remains the system of record, and Mike works from the copies you load.
